Rules for User Roles and Workgroups
Sharing content between users in Authoring and TDS follows the TIDE user role hierarchy. This means users can share content with other users in the same role, as well as to any users below them in the TIDE hierarchy. However, users cannot share content to users above them in the TIDE hierarchy.
However, it is possible to bypass these restrictions by sharing content with a Workgroup, which enables sharing of content across user roles.
Example:
• School Admins (SC) can share content with other School Admins and Teachers (TE) but cannot readily share content to District Admins (DC) above them in the TIDE user role hierarchy.
• For an SC to share content with a District Admin (DC), both the SC and DC could be members of a Workgroup, allowing the SC to readily share content with the DC.
